There IS ONLY ONE cruiseline to consider for atmosphere and service and that sails out of Southampton - P&O. There is always a very full daytime and evening itinerary and sometimes one of the joys of a cruise is being on board at Port when 75% of the other passengers go ashore - sheer bliss. Not cheap but definitely good value for money when you take into consideration what you get. Book for next year before the end of this month and get onboard credit and free parking at Southampton (or Evesway Coaches - see back of P&O brochure run coaches to and from the Port). Try John Moore at GoCruise (Bristol) on e-mail address - (Telephone 0117 939195) and say "Kathy sent you!". His prices are usually the best. I scout around about 8/9 Tour operators each time but have booked my last seven cruises with Mr Moore. Sometimes he might be the cheapest by just £20 each but that's a cocktail of the day for a week! GoCruise is part of the Fred Olsen Group so is well backed. Favourites - Oriana and Aurora. Both are family ships but if you go in term time then it is quieter and wonderful. Good luck.

Try Fred Olsen. Most cruises depart from UK, Southampton, Dover and the Black Prince often cruises from Liverpool. Lots do do, even Bingo. Enjoy your cruise whoever you go with .

There are also Royal Caribbean with sails from Southampton, Their fleet is just a nice and nicer on the purse strings too. I have sailed several times with them.

A Drinks package and is it worth it?

By Jodie Baldwin

Drinks packages?? A Lot of cruise lines offer these free at certain times as a promotion. A lot of guests I book say they don’t drink and can they have a discount instead and its just not worth them having. However it is FREE, and yes ok if you don’t drink alcoholic drinks the package will also cover soft drinks, bottled water mocktails and sometimes speciality teas and coffees. If you haven’t been offered a free drinks package when booking your cruise you may want to know th...

All dining is included, including the speciality restaurants ,all drinks, tips and shore excursions.Where do I start? I have arrived from a flight to Nice with BA and was greeted by Regents rep at the airport and was transferred by coach to Monte Carlo where the ship was docking, then I get on the ship...
