I have been to Alaska with Holland America. The cruise tour of 20 days. there best one. I do not think the couple would go to Alaska in October. It was first class. Jeanette California.

How about the Amazon, quite a few large ships go down there now, or possibly the area around Vietnam and the islands of Malaysia. I'm not too sure what the weather is like in these areas around October (assuming that is when you wish to sail) but both can be extremely hot (read that as humid) but at certain times of the year around Malaysia you can get typhoons and if you sail from the Caribbean to the Amazon then you have to consider the hurricane season (which extends from about July to mid November) although the Amazon itself is too far south to be affected by those. I've done both of these areas but went during our winter (Jan to March time) so I can't comment on the weather around October from experience. Hope this helps.

Hello I suggest South America and the Antartica. We will go January 30, 2010 with Holland America. It is there summer time. I know couples who have been there. They said it was better than they expected. Good Luck. Hope to see you Jeanette from California .

Been mentioned before but Alaska is fantastic, but be sure to add on the Land tour,. We flew to Seattle then took a 4 hour flight to Anchorage. Yousstay overnight there then go by coach to Mount Mackinlay Lodge then on to Denali Lodge. We then took the Princess train back from Denali to Whittierage, . This train has a panoramic roof. You sit on the upper deck and all the facilities including dining, baggage, shop etc are on the lower deck. It travels about 40mph and takes about 8/9 hours to complete the journey. We went in June and were extremely fortunate to see the summit of Mount Mackinlay completely clear. A rare occurrence. We then cruised down to Vancouver via all the usual ports of all.

Have you thought about a Norwegian cruise,if you can take the time from work suggest you do the one to the top of the world. We have done this and found it was a splendid cruise. The other cruise providing you do not mind flying is the Alaskan cruise out of Seattle or Vancouver, this is a 7 day cruise and also wonderful.

Off to Rockley

By Gemma Coles

Well it is finally time for my holiday. I am off to Poole in Dorset tomorrow to stop at Rockley Park for 11 days. I am really looking forward to a break and spending some time with my husband. We have had a busy year so far and as I am heavily pregnant with our first baby due in August we haven’t been away at all yet this year. It has been so hot the last few days with the heatwave we had and now the weather is turning and the forecast isn’t great for our time away. I wouldn&...

As you may know I’ve just returned from a week on board Navigator of the Seas, we sailed from Southampton to Spain, Portugal and France and the cruise was during the school holidays. We had a really fantastic time, and my little girl really loved the ship….which little girl wouldn’t? All in all we had a great cruise and I would without question sail with Royal Caribbean again perhaps next time we’d like to try one of the newer bigger ships. This cruise was our first as...

Sailing out of the UK is so popular! Some people cannot fly or just dont want to!Do you live in the North of the UK or even Scotland? I live about 10 miles from Manchester and recently took a cruise from Liverpool with Fred Olsen on the Boudicca. This summer the Boudicca will sail out of Liverpool right through to October! The range of destinations is fantastic! There is a British Isles cruise, 7 night Norwegian Fjords, a longer cruise over to Canada, you can travel south to France and th...
