I would have thought that both your assumptions could be correct in that the best located cabins and the best cruises are taken early and this is even more relevant during the school holidays. The thing that makes me hesitate is that this year may well be an exception if you are able to book outside of that main season and that this year, particularly if it is left until some time after Christmas, he may well be right to a degree. It's a gamble and remember that companies like Royal Caribbean, Celebrity and Azamara will drop your price if they drop their prices before you are due to pay the balance of the cruise, that is normally providing that you ask them to.
So book and be certain that you get to go where you want when you want and in the cabin you want or wait and take a chance of still getting all of these at a lower price. Just bear in mind that popular cruises can increase in price too. Clear (as mud?) .... Neil
Hi In my experience the earlier you book, the cheaper the price, I have found If you leave it until the last minute, you may not get where you want to be on the ship, Cruises are not like normal holidays, as they do tend to get booked up. I have booked to go on The Oasis (Royal Caribbean) in March 2010, the ship has not been built yet, and it first goes into the water approx end of 2009. Tell your husband at least If you have booked it, you will have something to look forward to, It also gives you time to speak to other people going on your cruise on the Internet, as there are a few sites that you can join. Hope you have a wonderful time when you do go, Tricia
Would you please tell me which are the sites that allow you to speak to other people about the cruise we are going on, thanks........Angela.
If cost is the only criteria & choice of ship, cabin, destination or time of year is unimportant, then you will get the cheapest deal possible. If however those factors are very important to you, then take the advice already give & book early.......Wilba.
