Neil & Ida Down - Answered a Question by Carnell (19 Oct 08 23:24)

I would have thought that both your assumptions could be correct in that the best located cabins and the best cruises are taken early and this is even more relevant during the school holidays. The thing that makes me hesitate is that this year may well be an exception if you are able to book outside of that main season and that this year, particularly if it is left until some time after Christmas, he may well be right to a degree. It's a gamble and remember that companies like Royal Caribbean, Celebrity and Azamara will drop your price if they drop their prices before you are due to pay the balance of the cruise, that is normally providing that you ask them to. So book and be certain that you get to go where you want when you want and in the cabin you want or wait and take a chance of still getting all of these at a lower price. Just bear in mind that popular cruises can increase in price too. Clear (as mud?) .... Neil .

Edwards - Answered a Question by Carnell (19 Oct 08 23:28)

Hi In my experience the earlier you book, the cheaper the price, I have found If you leave it until the last minute, you may not get where you want to be on the ship, Cruises are not like normal holidays, as they do tend to get booked up. I have booked to go on The Oasis (Royal Caribbean) in March 2010, the ship has not been built yet, and it first goes into the water approx end of 2009. Tell your husband at least If you have booked it, you will have something to look forward to, It also gives you time to speak to other people going on your cruise on the Internet, as there are a few sites that you can join. Hope you have a wonderful time when you do go, Tricia .

If cost is the only criteria & choice of ship, cabin, destination or time of year is unimportant, then you will get the cheapest deal possible. If however those factors are very important to you, then take the advice already give & book early.......Wilba.

My very first taste of Royal

By Isabelle Larder

After 17 years in the travel industry last weekend saw me step on board a Royal Caribbean ship for the very first time and wow, what a difference it has made to my outlook on cruising. Had you asked me a month ago if it was worth paying that bit extra for Royal Caribbean I would have said a few hundred pounds possibly, a thousand or more no way. Ask me now and I would say absolutely. For families I have no doubt that Independence of the Seas should be on the top of the list for your next cruis...

By Wayne Frieslander

Wayne Frieslander's blog

No fly cruises have now become so popular. Each year, as the number of people taking cruise holidays increases, so too does the number who want to cruise, but dont want to fly. There are many reasons why people prefer no fly cruises. Here are just 10 of the more popular reasons.(1) We live on an island! No matter where you live, youre probably closer to the sea than you realised. So, its probably just as easy to get to any of the major cruise ports as it would be to get to an airport. Cruise...
