Two days before your cruise have a sore throat, forget to travel on the correct day, forget to fill your car with petrol, loose your way when driving to the ship.

P&O show all premier leage matches live subject to satellite reception, but only in the bar, not in your cabin. Am not sure if they are allowed to show them whilst in Southampton but you could ask in the bar. Brian.

We sailed on Oceana last year and wanted to watch the Merseyside Derby did not come on until half way through first half! after giving the cruise director a flea in his ear it miraculously came on however be aware about England/Scotland etc matches you will not see them unless they have a special arrangement already in place as they do not get coverage from BBC/ITV but from a satellite station . If it is on will be shown in the bar whilst in dock.

Even if you get told it will be screened on board, I would still watch it ashore, I'm a big football fan and have been let down so many times on various ships - last time was the Champions league final which 400 people on the ship wanted to watch, but on the day they couldn't get it and we were at sea so couldn't go ashore! Wasnt much fun watching teletext! The way to sell it is that the queue to get on the ship is much shorter just before the ship sails - however do watch the last time for getting to check in!

You will probably find that the sports bar, where you can watch sky football will not open untill the evening of sailing. If you go just outside dock gate 8 there is a pub close by that show sky sports football. M.J.Curtis Southampton.

It depends on what time the ship is due to sail. I have found that if there is a match important to footie fans, it has been shown. If sail time coincides with K,O. you might just catch someof it in the local. Good luck.
