Find Your Cruise
Why should smoking be banned on deck as it is open air? when we cruised smoking was only allowed on one side of the ship outside so if you don't want to be near someone who smokes stay to the other side.
I don't have a problem with banning smoking inside but give us somewhere to go.
Smoking is personal choice and there is no reason whatsoever why smokers/non smokers cannot have their own spaces provided by cruise companies. Hopefully cruise companies will continue to provide appropriate areas for both smoking and non smoking patrons.
Having been on the back of Deck 10 on Oriana when a friend was quite badly burned from a rollup cigarette flicked off the deck above and blown (quite obviously)back into the ship, the sooner P&O (to suit me!) becomes totally tobacco free the better. As long as you have people with an IQ smaller than their waist sizes who act like this then you need to protect everyone else on board. The guy responsible (who actually had an ashtray at the side of his lounger but obviously just flicked his still lit 'fag' behind him) looked at me agog when I accosted him (my friend was too shocked to deal with it) and despite his tattoo and ear-ring didn't say a word! Hopefully my request for him to put out his smokes in future and ashtray them just MIGHT have made an impression. The incident on a Princess ship shortly before, of which we are all aware, should mean that people shouldn't even have to give a second thought about the logical act of a complete smoking ban.
My wife, who has had a hip replacement, was nearly knocked over by a jogger on the promenade deck "people shouldn't even have to give a second thought about the logical act of a complete running ban".
I saw someone with clothes ruined by a passenger spilling a drink "people shouldn't even have to give a second thought about the logical act of a complete alcohol ban".
Is this serious? Of course not but I would ban people who behave irresponsibly and those compulsive moaners like "Adams".
Yes I think so, especially in cabins. Its not only the smoke that we will breath in but there is a serious fire risk as well. Its not like a building whereby you can go downstairs and open the front door to safety, or jump out of a window.
People could well be trapped by some persons foolishness.
Yes I would ban smoking, its no longer acceptable in todays society.
I am a non smoker bu i think there should be a designated area for smokers, coming from scotland we have amoking ban in place for over 1 year and as long as their is a controlled area it works perfectly well
you will never be able to enforce a ban on board and
your customers would not book any cruises.
I would ban it on most ships, but have some smokers only ships for those who can't or won't kick the habit, let them all breathe in the foul smelly air together. from an ex-smoker (yes we are the worst for moaning about it.
YES!YES!YES!Lets have a total ban on smelly smokers! Its safer all round, health wise and fire risk wise.Smoking is no longer in fashion.
