Wilba - Answered a Question by morgan (31 Aug 08 09:32)

I think it was 'aceluxury' we used (google port canaveral taxis), no problems, on time both ends of our cruise, large comfortable van for six of us, good responsive emails to our questions. We had no complaints & were very satisfied.

Thanks for that had already seen ace luxury's site and other positive feedback for them from others, they seem a reputable company and reasonable price.

Can I ask why you do not want to drive? It is pretty impossible to get around the USA if you do not have a car. Americans do one-way car rentals so you can hire the car at MCO when you land and drop it off at the port: All agree that the cheapest option is to rent a car one-way from the airport, drive to the port, drop luggage/family off at port, drop rental car off and take rental car shuttle back to the port. Repeat in reverse for your post-cruise trip back to the airport. Budget, Thrifty, Avis and then Hertz all have drop off locations and free round trip shuttles very close to the port (companies are listed in order of closeness to the port). These four places are open on Sundays and their port shuttles start early in the morning until the afternoon. National does not have shuttle service to the port. Enterprise has a location on Merritt Island which is a barrier island between the mainland and the beach. They will shuttle you both ways during normal business hours which are M-f 9-6 and Sat 9-12. The closest Dollar car rental is on South Babcock in Melbourne which is about 20 to 25 mins away from the port. Your best bets are Budget, Thrifty, Avis and Hertz. Alternatively there are shared shuttles Cocoa beach Shuttle 321-631-4144 or 888-784-4144; www.cbshuttle.com Art’s Shuttle 321-783-2112 or 800-567-5099; www.artsshuttle.com Note: Most of the popular shuttle companies servicing the port are not private shuttles (they will wait for all reservations to board before leaving). If you need a private shuttle request it specifically! Private towncars: Florida Towncar service http://www.floridatowncar.com/ or Sunrise Florida Transportation. http://www.transportationflorida.com/ .

Thanks for that. We have been to orlando quite a few times and have only driven on one occassion, which I found to be more hassle. We also hired a people carrier which the insurance cost a bomb for. We've found it more convenient and cheaper in the long run to use private transport if we need it. They have excellent transportation at a fraction of the cost here in the UK and compliementary transfers to the parks, etc which is easier to use than drive/park yourself. Have you used the two private companies you've mentioned yourself. This stay we are there for xmas and doing the parks only, so can use the hotel's transport which is ok as we are on site for the disney parks, in between it's some relaxing & shopping!

You may think ‘What is she on about?’Well let me explain….I have friends, family & even some customers who book their own holidays online then something goes wrong and what do they do – come to me for advice or help.I will help anyone but as a Travel Agent this is the worst thing that can happen as firstly, they didn’t book with me, secondly, they then want my help to sort out whatever issue there is.I can give so many examples of this, so here are a few:-Boo...

Its that time of the year, Christmas has gone and its time to start planning for next year. We often host everyone at our house being that Chris is a chef its kind of expected. Well not in 2017, we have just booked a week on Royal Caribbean Allure of the Seas. I cannot wait! I have been on Harmony and Anthem but always with work and only for 2 nights so its not the same experience as being on board with your family for the week. Then comes the decision do we stay in Miami or Fort Lauderdale? This Is What True Love Looks Like!

By Amy Ginder

Amy Ginder's blog

Happy Valentines day! I hope you are feeling the love today. I thought that I would share a romantic love story which dates back to 1912. This was the year that the Titanic tragically sank, leaving only 705 survivors. On the 10th April 2012 the Titanic sailed from Southampton, there were 2,200 passengers onboard many looking to live a new life in America. We have all watched the film Titanic right? I am not talking about Jack and Rose (boring, the pair of them) I am referring to Ida Straus and...
