Depends which cruiseline you want. P&O have flights to Caribbean from Newcastle but not for every cruise. Most modern ships have picture windows rather than portholes.

Princess cruises now fly from Newcastle.

Thomson cruises fly from Newcastle for Palma embarkation- thats Med itineries, but if you post cruiseline and itinery I am sure someone on here will help you.

For cruising other than the Med, a lot of flights do say they are from Newcastle, but these flights are normally connecting flights to either Gatwick or Heathrow. We are going to the Carribean in February 09 and we are flying out of Manchester and trying out the train from Newcastle which goes straight into Manchester airport.
