Make sure you go to a jeweller approved by your cruise line who will guarantee what you buy. Beware there are are many fakes out there.

Hi, I went to the Caribbean in December and the choice of jewellery on offer is amazing. After touring the islands for the perfect ring I found St Martin was the place to go. It has hundreds of shops, not sure if there is a bvlgari stockist but Im sure you can look it up on the internet. Enjoy your shopping.

If you're going to St Lucia there is a superb shopping centre at the cruise terminal where you can buy good watches and jewellery.

Be very careful. my wife bought a diamond ring in aruba form colombian jewellers and when we got home had it valved and the carats check. it was nowhere near what we bought and the following year took it back with their certificat and our jewellers certificate on the weigt and clarity of diamonds. they did give us our money back and we bought another ring, which wa diamonds set in platinum. this melted/went mishaped the first time my wife wore it. we sent photos and eventually the ring back to them and they offered the choice of either having it repaired or our money back. took the money a free lunch is waiting in aruba for us. their explanation was mis labelling by their staff. i think the truth is you buy they may not see you again!!! be very careful the best place to purchase jewellery in our opionion is turkey .

I bought my diamond necklace from Diamonds International in Antigua in April this year. The price I paid was excellent - much cheaper than elsewhere - reason being was that these shops know the departure times of the cruise liners and are prepared to do really good deals in the last hour just to secure the sale.I saved 85 dollars by purchasing in the last hour. Life as a Crew Member The ...

By Elise Otaki

The endless rumours about crew life always tickle me – working 24 hours a day, getting paid next to nothing and sharing a room with 184 other people. The simple truth of the matter is – you do work long hours, you are away from home for long periods and it is blooming hard going sometimes BUT you get a job that takes you around the World! Surely a bit of overtime is worth that?I have to confess that I was lucky – I joined P&O in the Shore Excursions department, so I auto...

Japan Week

By Robin Clarke

Robin Clarke's blog

So this week marks the Japan week promoting various different cruise lines that are incorporating a stay and cruise, with new 2018 itineraries now in place. So why is Japan a top destination in 2017 – Here’s what my colleague Holly had to say.“Japan had proved to be a top destination for 2017 and is already in demand for 2018 so why is this the case? After visiting Japan myself in 2016 and also with Joanna Lumley’s Japan airing on ITV in September 2016 it really is of n...

Tell me what is on your Bucket List

By Lee Johnson

Lee Johnson's blog

Over the last few years here at www.CRUISE.co.uk we have seen the cruise industry change massively. Gone are the days when a simple cruise will suffice, people are now wanting more from their cruise. We are seeing a steady rise in the requirements to do a land stay prior to the cruise (or after it in some cases). Not only that but people are wanting tours and particularly escorted tours that really give an essence of that region. Our most popular package of the last few years has undoubtedly been...
