I have not been on Costa & have no urge to do so, but Concordia is a very new ship & is a clone of similar size Carnival ships, who now own Costa. They're big, brash, glitzy, in your face & if you've got kids they'll probably love it. Their older ships (Pre Carnival) are the ones that get the most criticism, as some were converted container ships! A cruise it what you make it to my mind, & one thing I always say is 'Did I get value for money' & not try to compare it against others I paid more money for. Good Luck.

Yes Busy ships with lots of activities but very good and great value. Spent a week on the Caribbean with them .. grear time Food and service also staff ... great. They are busy ships with lots of acrivities. Only busy meal Breakfast but always found a table .. they make the best bread I have had on any ship .. Would travel with them again any time. Again I would agree make sure it's one of the newer ships.

Yes I have been on Costa cruises about 10 times and really like them. I rate them third behind Cunard and Celebrity but the important thing is that you must enjoy mixing with a multi-cultural clientele as the passenegers are from Italy, France, Spain, Germany etc etc as well as from the UK. Many of the negative comments you will have read are from xenophobic Brits who want meat and two veg, a pint of beer and find it difficult to accept that announcements will be in a multitude of languages and that the food is mediterranean based. Yes some of the other nations have their cultural whims eg the Italians do not form orderly queues but this is them and not an issue of major importance once you realise this. The good points about Costa are firstly the great itineraries which often focus on Italy, Greece and the Eastern Med where there are wonderful ports of call full of historic appeal such as Izmir for Ephesus, Istanbul, Rhodes, Athens etc etc. Secondly their ships are new and scrupulously clean and well maintained. Thirdly they are what I would call `smart casual` in a very continental way - most of the passengers dress smartly for dinner but without an emphasis on over formality. Like most cruise ships they cater across the board so you can find speciality restaurants, piano bars etc at one extreme or bingo and holiday camp activities at the other - the choice is yours. Don't be put off and as long as you can take a tolerant attitude to other nationalities then you will really enjoy it .... I have to admit I far prefer it to a whole boat load of Brits who I have witnessed being far less well behaved than a few Italians who don't like queueing!!!
