We are booked to go on Ventura next May - I don't know about smoking, but my daughter came back this week from a cruise on P&O's Oceana and they started a trial smoking ban at the end of the cruise, so I would'nt be surprised if by next year there will possibly be a ban.

Smoking should be banned both inside AND out - don't spoil the experience for everyone else!

I hope that in due course that smoking is BANNED all together on ships.Smoking definitely should be banned in cabins. As well as being annoying to non smokers it could be dangerous and cause a fire. What about the Princess ship that was just off Jamaica the other year, a fire started on the balcony and people had to be evacuated. We are going on the Ventura hopefully not at the same time if you are a heavy smoker. Please have some consideration for non smokers!! I think you have started something with asking this question.

Yes but limited areas. Understand when you arrive at P&O Ships there is now a leaflet on smoking policy. I think you will find smoking is permitted in all cabins and balconies, on open decks one side only (port I think) and very limited smoking in one or two public lounges. I know on Artemis- which we are going on- it is only the port side of Horizon Lounge (A Non-Smoker.

Her Majesty and I have more in...

Hannah Wilson's blog

I love smaller ships, I don’t need a choice of 14 restaurants, multiple bars and lounges, rock climbing walls and ice-skating rinks, if anything it is too much choice and I find you end up flitting from bar to bar all evening, not settling in one place. Give me a Fred Olsen ship with one bar, one lounge and one theatre and I have all I need thank you very much.A couple of years ago I had the chance to visit the Hebridean Princess, the little ship that has been chartered by her Majesty f...

To tip or not to tip

By Paul Craggs

Paul Craggs's blog

Now its a general fact that us Brits do not like to tip as much as our American cousins and when it comes to tipping its a bit of a mine field so I thought I would explain as much as I can When it comes to tipping its a general rule of thumb that on most ships its not actually compulsory there are ways round it and im about to details them out To get a bit of clarification it was only actually Norwegian that were compulsory and now they are all inclusive anyways so I guess it ...
