BLYTH - Answered a Question by browne (02 Aug 08 15:08)

Well I have aleays found the majority of cruisers treat get on well with each other but wherever you go in the world you will always find a few rotten apples and I must admit over the last 12/13 years of cruising we have not found very, in fact we still keep in touch from time to time with some we have met so relax and enjoy your cruise it is a totally different experience.

I suggest that you join the rolcall and get chatting with people before you board so you have a ready made group of friends when you do sail!

Like Blyth, in 11 years of cruising we have met many more good than bad; indeed we cruise sometimes with Canadian friends we first met on a Celebrity cruise in 2002 and with friends from Washington D C we met on a Viking River cruise in 2006. The majority of cruisers want to have a pleasant, enjoyable holiday and for most of us, meeting new people is part of that enjoyment. Have a great first cruise....I will bet you will become as adicted as the rest of us!!!

Barnes - Answered a Question by browne (04 Aug 08 17:44)

Hi I have been on one cruise about 40 years ago!! My husband never. He is 50, I am 60 and we are both nervous but also looking forward to the cruise. I talk a lot, he can when he wants to! If you would like to meet up, I can't find a cabin number, as we booked on line and had no idea where to request a cabin. Ask at reception and I'm sure they would tell you. We are detrmined to have a good time, even though we are travellin on a low budget. If you would be interested in sharing a taxi, rather than paying for excursions, we are. Have fun anyway. You sound like you are used to it.

Traditional or Freestyle ? Whi...

Carnival`s decision to introduce a new rule of traditional diners on their ships made me think of the whole subject of when, where and with whom do you choose to dine on your cruise. On board Carnival Glory and Carnival Conquest passengers who opt for first or second sitting traditional dining will be turned away from the restaurant if they are more than 30 minutes late for their selected seating. So that means be there on time , and probably queue to get on, or go to the buffet.Dining time s...

Most of you will know I already have two wonderful children, Aimee and Rafe. They’re currently 9 (Aimee will be 10 in September) and 6.But I’m about to join the difficulties of finding 5 berth cabins! Baby number 3 is on it’s way!!Baby is due around mid January (although we’re sure he or she will be late and will come on Rafe’s birthday on 20th January).Being 35 means I’m classed as ‘higher risk’ due to my age (I’m not THAT old, am I??) bu...

One Stop Shop !

It is amazing how many guest I have spoken to over the last few weeks that have booked excursions through the cruise liner, which I may add are quite expensive. Cruise liners make a lot of money selling excursions at a hefty premium, but many people are happy to pay the extra because booking with the ship is the easy option and they have the comfort of knowing the captain will not leave port until everyone on his ships tours is back on board. I totally understand the reasons behind this but b...
