Right here goes. The Athena is owned by Classic International Cruises, and following her charter dropping by Travelscope a couple of months prior to the much publicised Van Gogh arrest in Maderia, she is now on charter to the Spanish firm Vision Cruceros (Vision Cruises), sailing out of Barcelona around the Med for Summer 2008, and possibly longer. Following the failure of Travelscope, which had chartered the Van Gogh since 2002, and the makeshift Van Gogh cruises that took over the running of the ship for a short time, the ships owners, CLUB CRUISE, a Dutch firm behind Travelscope in this country, has managed to charter the Van Gogh to Russian cruise company Metropolis Tur for the Summer 2008 season. I think Club Cruise have plans to take control of Van Gogh themselves again at the end of the year (when things have cooled down a bit)! I hope that this helps you? Happy cruising.

Athena is being operated by Classic Cruise International but their website shows no cruises for 2008. Van Gogh operated by Travelscope who are in administration.

Royal Caribbean. Something for...

By Dean Michaelides

Every single year its seems like more and more ships are being released. 3-6 star 300 passengers to 6000 passengers there are hundreds of cruises out there now. My question is can anyone beat Royal Caribbean and do they have a ship for every one?I recently had a training with a Royal Caribbean rep and she advised there aim would be for cruise customers never to look elsewhere when it comes to cruising. A bit like Dubai for Holidays. There idea it to have such a wide range within there fleet f...
