Hi, do you have an airport transfer with your cruise company, who will take you to the airport with pleny of time to kill?, if so, there is a very good bus that will take you back to piazalle roma, where there is a left luggage store, if you are making your own transfers, this is quite close to the port, and from P Roma, you can either get a vaporetto into the centre of Venice, or even walk. Have a great time.

Wilba - Answered a Question by Corper (24 Jun 08 15:14)

I know of no way of holding luggage in Venice, but we had a similar situation in Barcelona last month (2200hr flight). We rented a room in a cheap hotel for the day 90 Euro between 6 of us. That gave us somewhere for the luggage, wash, toilet, shower & bed & was worth every penny under the circumstances. Just trawl the 'net' & email a few places. Good Luck!

The cruise ship might have a tour you could do before you get dropped off at the airport, but you would still have a good few hours to wait, but perhaps the tour if available and Wilba's option. We certainly did one at Barcelona and it was a fantastic city to see and the tour lasted almost 5 hours.

There is also a left luggage facility at the prot. It's in the baggage hall on the right before the exit.

That's right. you leave your luggage, for 3 EUROS per bag, just as you're leaving the ship-- there is an attendant there all the time. You can then get the free shuttle bus across from the ship, into the tourist area, & walk round, to the Grand Canal , Rialto Bridge, etc. When you come back to the ship, you get the water bus, for 6 Euros, collect the luggage,& they will signal a taxi from opposite the ship, which will cost 34 Euros ,straight to the Airport-- brilliant.

Go Karting at Sea

By Jamie House

You can Imagine my excitement this week when the new NCL Norweigian Cruise line announced another first at Sea with the Launch of Norwegian Joy.This in true Norwegian style is set to be a fun ship with typical freedom dining and the laid back style we have become accustomed to with Norwegian. Where this ship is innovative and different is with the rather exciting launch of the Worlds first Go Karting track at Sea.This is no ordinary go Karting track your little ones and adults alike will be a...

Silversea was not meant to be!

By Barbara Hopley

Barbara Hopley's blog

On Monday 22 May I was booked to go on a ship visit of the ‘Silver Whisper’ by Silversea Cruises. We get invited to see ships all the time but do them on our days off as too busy to take time out of a working week. That’s how dedicated I am to see as many ships as possible as so much easier to sell when you have seen them.I had been looking forward to seeing this ship as have never seen a Silversea ship, it had been booked for a few weeks and I made my arrangements at home ...

SOS An Insurance Emergency!!

By Esme Hamilton

Esme Hamilton's blog

The events around the world this week has made us all realise that life is so precious and our loved ones need us to stay in their lives until it is naturally no longer possible. This made me think about my arrangements for when i am away later this year. it has made me start looking at my insurance policy to make sure i am properly covered. Without proper insurance in place you could END UP AT SEA.Did you know that only a third of travel policies cover cruise holidays as standard? If yo...
