It depends on what kind of cruising experience you are looking. Ocean Village 1 and two accept children from 6 months. That is a very informal cruiseline. P&O also accept children on Aurora, Oriana, Oceana from 2 years with a range of facilities and activties for children from 2- 8 years. On all Princess ships they feature a Youth Centre and Teen Centre as your child is under three years, you will need to accompany him in the youth Centre. Island Cruises, NCL, RCI and Costa all accept children.

We have just returned from a cruise on the Sea Princess and my abiding memory as a grandmother was watching a little girl of around two years old climbing through the railings above the atrium of marble stairs and floors which reaches about four decks high....her father caught her just in time....my advice would be if you have eyes in the back of your head and will watch her for every single moment of your cruise then go ahead and book!!!! otherwise wait a couple of years!

I would wait until he is at least 14, even with kids clubs they get bored really easy, which can then spoil the fun for yo.

Hi.we have a 8 & 3 year old and although the QE2 and costa europa & magica were good for kids we have found that ocean village is the best.there is a club that he can go to and a special deck area just for little ones! happy cruising.

Why not check online which ships have kids crews for 2 yr olds? We sailed on the Norwegian Jewel i think they start at 2 years. My daughter was 3 and she loved every minute. As did we enough to sail on her again.
