Balding - Answered a Question by greenwood (26 May 08 15:23)

Most Cruise ships use a Satellite connection for their cabin telephones international calls. The charges are very high and charged by the minute from a few seconds after the ringing tone is heard, so even if you make a very short call you will be charged a significant amount of money. Calls to your mobile while at sea will also cost you and the caller significant amounts. I would tip an off duty crew member to baby sit.
