Blyth - Answered a Question by Zurcher (04 Jul 07 13:15)

We have used Victoria Travel now since 1999 barring one year and so far have found them extremely competitive. You are actually asking the query on their website, I believe they are the largest company for cruise work and I have been naughty on some ocassions and asked other companies having got a price from them and so far the others could not match the price one actually phoned back to say their manager had asked how do they make a profit because the best they could do was £400 higher. But yes book early is always the case, unkike hotels ships bottom fill so there is a small chance of an upgrade, but certainly book a stateroom with a balcony. I have to admist the most wonderful place we have sailed into is Venice as you see the city unlfold as you sail up to your berthing point and if you have a balcony view on the starboard side for arriving the port for leaving the views will knock you out. There are plenty of cruise lines sailing in and out of the port of Venice so you are spoilt for choice.

BOOK EARLY is my advice that way you'll get good discounts and choice of cabin/deck and dining times with princess cruises you get 45% discount if you book before end of August and you sail from southampton so no flying or excess luggage cost to worry about plus with some sea princess cruises free coach travel from alot of pick up points return to southampton that's why we have already booked our '08 cruise already.have a lovely time sounds like you all deserve i.

Hi Valerie,my wife and I are fairly recent converts to cruising and are keen bargain hunters on the internet. We must admit that our best trips for value to date have been arranged through cruise agents. DONT BE AFRAID TO MAKE THE AGENT WORK FOR YOU THATS WHY THEY GET COMMISSION.Give them a brief of a broad area ie west/east med and what your budget is then sit back and let them earn their keep.Try agents like cruise direct to get ideas of offers. BEST OF LUCK FROM BRIGHSTONE.

I book through the Liverpool Cruise Club, and have found them to be a very helpful organisation. I am sure if you get in touch they would be more than happy to help you out.

Traditional or Freestyle ? Whi...

By Camilla Edwards

Carnival`s decision to introduce a new rule of traditional diners on their ships made me think of the whole subject of when, where and with whom do you choose to dine on your cruise. On board Carnival Glory and Carnival Conquest passengers who opt for first or second sitting traditional dining will be turned away from the restaurant if they are more than 30 minutes late for their selected seating. So that means be there on time , and probably queue to get on, or go to the buffet.Dining time s...

Zara Kelly's blog

Last week I enjoyed an extended weekend away to visit my family in Wales, mainly to celebrate my beautiful nieces 18th birthday. It was lovely as I had my own family with me for the weekend part, then I had some well needed pamper time with my sister (well a dip in her hot tub!) oh and yes it was my birthday also so went to see Coldplay in Cardiff.Cardiff did not disappoint, 41 years on from the hottest summer ever, it was bucketing rain all day! A bit like last year when I saw the Manics in...
