Stone - Answered a Question by Halstead (17 May 08 21:06)

You will find an in-depth review of 'Europa' on page 362 of the 2008 edition of the Berlitz 'Complete Guide to Cruising and Cruise Ships' I have not sailed on the ship, but it usually gets the highest score rating 5*+ in the small ship category.

Thanks for your response, "Mr?Mrs?Ms Stone of Oxford". I've read the review that you refer to and that is what has whetted my appetite. You say that "it usually gets the highest score rating 5*+ in the small ship category" but I'd go further than that - it usually gets the highest score rating 5*+ of all of the ships in all of the categories. Most of the reviews that I have read seem to have been written by "passengers" who turned out to have vested interests - as travel agents! Hapag-Lloyd have sent me a brochure for their bi-lingual cruises only but, in accordance with Murphy's Law, the one that I fancied is not in there - it's one that goes from Greece to Turkey and the passengers decide which islands to stop at on the way. They claim that any cruise where at least 10 of the passengers are English speaking will be made into a bi-lingual one - ie one with announcements not just in German but in English also. We were hoping to hear from someone who speaks only English and has cruised on this ship.

How great was Independence of the Seas?

By Adrian Partridge

You must read this if you are thinking of booking to go on Independence of the Seas. The Million Dollar refit has meant the ship now has more to do than ever before. For families it makes Royal Caribbeans already favourite ship in the UK, an even more attractive proposition.I know fun when I see it and Splashaway bay looked like fun with a capital Splash the children that were enjoying the water in the hot sunshine all had smiles on their faces. The lifeguards, although they have a serious si...
