My best tip is to cruise from the UK. You can take virtually unlimited luggage and it doesn't go missing.

I always pack like that and I am very glad I do because on our last cruise one of our cases went missing it did not show up at Buenos Aires it had been left at Madrid on route from Heathrow and as we were going to the Antarctic we did not get it back for 9 days but Princess were great they gave us $50 and toilet kits and kept us well informed about our cases whereabouts. We got it back all intact thankfully.

My top tip is to always take the stairs and not the elevator. That way you can tuck into a full english breakfast everyday without feeling too guilty.

I have been packing like this for years. I have had a lost case twice but don't mind because we are never caught out and the case has always turned up eventually. I started packing like this after seeing someones case go into the see when being loaded in Jamaica.

We always pack like that. Mind you, the only time our cases went missing (not on a cruise fortunately), they both got lost! Turned up in a couple of days though, and I still think it's the safest way to pack.

We are flying from Terminal 5 next week (cruising to Mexico on Golden Princess on the 26th April) and we have decided to take one case each on the plane with our essentials. This for us is our formal wear, we both have to have things altered to fit and I have spent ages looking for 2 nice dresses! We will cram as much as we can into these cases, and are taking a third small case to be checked in with our casual stuff that could be replaced in a shopping trip to a mall should it go missing without too much trouble.

Boudicca gets a refit.

By Nicola Milligan

Nicola Milligan's blog

My first experience of Boudicca was in December 2016 and must admit she was looking very tired and a wee bit old fashioned. This had no impact on our little mini cruise but for some passengers doing longer itineraries I must say may be a bit disappointed. Fred Olsen’s reputation is highly held within the cruise market however with so many glam glitzy new comers it is time to up your game. Prices are very good although certainly not cheap and having sailed with them the service, food an...

Oh its such a perfect day ..

By Betsy Davies

Betsy Davies's blog

It seems Royal Caribbean are not just building new ships and refurbishing existing ships but also investing in a $200 million overhaul of their private island Coco Cay. I think this is the best thing that the cruise lines have done in a while and for multi generational family holidays gets a massive thumbs up from me .The 125-acre beach hideaway will be renamed ‘Perfect Day at CocoCay ‘ It will be rolled out in phases, beginning September 2018 and the completion by November 20...
