Without doubt a mid-level, though not necessarily a mid-priced line -I always think in value for money terms it is one of the worst. The 2008 Berlitz guide has Celebrity and Cunard as 5 or 4plus and P&O as 4, on a scale that goes from 5 down to a lowest score of 3 for large resort ships. We have been on all these lines and P&0 is now undoubtedly aimed at the mass, rather than the luxury market, just like RCI. It is a great pity as I remember my first cruises on P&0 in the 1970's when they were British owned and were top notch. Now the only thing left from those days is the name, which is a bit of a con, as the company has nothing to do with the UK and is very firmly in American hands.
