No formal nights are not 'compulsary' You can eat in the Windjammer buffet area, you can be smart-casual and eat in the speciality restaurants, you can eat in Johnny Rockets burger bar, you can eat in Sorrentos pizzeria on the Royal Promenade, or you can not get dressed at all and have room service.

Nothing is compulsary! You don't need to dress up on formal nights, although personally I think it's a shame that you don't feel like it as it is the only holiday where formal dining takes place on a regular basis. Even on formal nights, you will see many that are not dressed formal, but who have just stepped up a little, say with a long-sleeved shirt & tie (if you are a man, of course!) or a sports jacket. I don't know the layout of the ship, but it will have other restaurants as well as the breakfast buffet area, parts of which on other ships are converted at night to an informal dinner sitting.

Costa Concordia 5 Years On

By Gemma Coles

Gemma Coles's blog

I am sure most people will remember hearing the news when the Costa Concordia sank. This January we are 5 years on from this tragedy. The ship hit an underwater rock and then capsized near Tuscany. The ship had been carrying 4252 people and unfortunately 32 people drowned when the ship sank. I can remember it clearly seeing videos and images on the tragedy. I can’t imagine how these people felt being in this position. The captain of the ship was sentenced to 16 years in prison for...

P&O offer some fantastic islands and resorts in the Caribbean and have done for a number of years now. Returning to the same destinations doesnt seem to bother regular and repeat P&O customers because lets face it, when you are only in the ports for 1 day there is always something new to see or visiting your favorite beach may be something you really enjoy.Have you ever repeated an itinerary because you have enjoyed it so much?I have visited Cuba, Jamaica and Dominican Republic more t...
