We flew via Dubai last year and had to go through immigration in Duba.
You and your hand luggage may have to go through a scanner, but certainly not customs/immigration. In fact you won't even see your hold luggage. It is transferred from flight to flight without you even knowing it. You will have to go thru customs/immigration at your final destnation though.Good luck. I just luv Emirates and cruising.
If you are connecting in Dubai onto another Emirates flight without coming out of the airport, just transit....and they are very efficient. At least they were when I changed planes there to get to Mauritious a couple of years ago. Thats the very best cruise I ever did 2 years ago ( on the Pacific Princess) although I flew BA to Beijing direct
U do not have to go thru Immigration at all.U follow the transit signs and u have to go thru security where u hand baggage is scanned and u are screened, then u are in the Duty Free Shopping area. All very easy.I travel on Emirates often and transit in Dubai.From.Ian Stirling Lancashire 12/03/08.
I flew into Dubai on several occasion over the years and had to submitt to security checks both entering & leaving, with the most recent developments it is a nice place to heve a stop at, look up on the walls & see all the flaming torchs .
