P&O are very good at looking after disabled passengers. Check their brochures and you will see designated disabled cabins etc. Other ships also have disabled wheelchair friendly cabins etc, its worth buying the Berlitz cruise travel guide which lists all the ships and companies, you will be able to see how may have larger disabled cabins etc.

We have just returned from a two week cruise on royal caribbean navigator of the seas around the med with my 79 year old mother who is in a wheelchair and it was great the staff could not have helped more and everything is very disabled friendly.

Having cruised with both P & O and Royal Caribbean , I would say that Royal Carribean are the most disabled friendly .Brilliance of the Seas is the best with total level access and automatic doors on disabled toilets ,cabin door and cabin bathroom .Downside is that the entertainment and dining experience is inferior to P & O. Look forward to P & O catching up.I hope they will get it right on the Ventura. george jolle.

I have cruised with both P & O and Royal Caribbean Navigator of the Seas. Just returned from a two week cruise on the Navigator with my 80 year old Mum. The ship may be very disabled friendly. However the crew do not accord the same standard of help to the disabled when it comes to organising shore excursions. On one occasion, my Mum was shoved aside and she fell down whilst making her way down from the assemby point on deck 3 to disembarkment deck one. When I brought this to the attention of the crew on shore, I received a very unsatisfactory reply. It knocked the confidence off my Mum. I dreaded to think what the other disabled passengers would have experienced.. Until Navigator get their act together on this issue, I shall have to give serious consideration to cruising on the Navigator again. My recommendation is to cruise with P & O. J Yong, Kent on 6 June 200.

Does Your Cruise Loyalty Club ...

By Collette Apak

Collette Apak's blog

All cruise lines are keen to get customers back on board their ships once they have taken their first cruise. To help this they all have their individual loyalty schemes, most of which were in place many years before the likes of Tesco Clubcard points and the Boots Advantage card. Most loyalty tiers are measured on how many nights you’ve spent on board or the number of cruises taken. The benefits vary hugely between each cruise company. Some of the benefits for repeat customers include ...
