There are some reasonable hotels in Miami and for up to date customer recommendation try tripadvisor or virtual tourist or cruise critic. I must admit that I normally go out of Fort Lauderdale and would always do that in preference to Miami when given the choice....Nei.

Doubletree Biscayne Bay or the Marriott Biscayne Bay - both hotels offer port view rooms, and are very close to the BaySide shopping/eating area - which you get to via the MetroMover.
