Ida & Neil Down - Answered a Question by Cotterill (27 Jan 08 20:28)

(If this comes You have to accept that cruise lines inevitably strive to make a profit and when they believe they can cut corners in order to save a dollar without too much controversy they will but they are still unsure whether they can upset the smokers because they believe that they will move to another cruise line even though their numbers are diminishing so they spend their time hedging their bets nervously watching when grosser actions are continually being perpetrated as price cutting exercises without a thought to their consequences. Things like menu adjustments, entertainment changes, staffing shortages, cutting ports from itineraries, stopping the odd bottle of liqueur from coming aboard and charging all manner of things that used to be free. You would think that with more and more berths becoming available that they would be looking for extra incentives to keep their ships full and passengers coming back to them when the reverse seems to be the case. Maybe the world economic situation will prove a difference but somehow I doubt it. I thinks I’ve probably gone off on one again….sorry….Neilp as a duplicate I apologise.
