You have left it very late to book a cruise for this year -most will be sold out, and the prices for those cabins left will be quite expensive. That said - there are some great deals on Vision otS out of LA down to Mexico at the moment. I suggest you read the various reports of the cruises over on cruise critic and then when you have booked you sign up for the roll call for yor cruise so you can get 'chatting' with people also travelling with you before hand so when you board it will be like meeting old friends and you won't feel alone. An elderly lady friend of mine just took her first cruise out of NY and the she said that the people she had met via the roll call took her under their wing and she had a wonderful time and is now planning to return to the US to stay with one couple she met.

Thanks, I know it's short notice but I understand here can at times be cancellations and that is what I am hoping for as it's now or not for another 2 yrs! Good tip about the roll call but I'm not sure I've seen that facility offered on any site as yet, perhaps as you say once something is booked it will be offered.Although I'm more concerned about the facilities and standard of ship than travelling alone as I have done that before, but not cruised. I've read the reviews and it all seems to focus on a few ships only rather than being able to search for a route or "best" so I'll pick up a Berlitz. Thanks again for getting back to m.

You can access the Berlitz guide info throughh this site. Also watch the single supplements, they range form as little to 40 or 50% to over 200%. Once you've seen a cruise that appeals and is available, get the cruise specialiast to get you the cruise price only as well as the cost with the flights included. For a single person it sometimes works out cheaper because you are not paying for 2 flights. i saved £400 by getting the cruise only and arranging my own flight on a cruise to the med this year. If you are looking for good gym facilities, then your best bet is probably going to be the newer larger resort ships. Good luck finding somethin.

DubaiCruising from Dubai and sailing around the UAE is still one of the winter hot spots for the UK cruise market. With flight times around 8 hours and direct services from the main UK airports its an attractive option. Often the flight choice will be 2 day flights and a night option which brings you into the city early hours of departure day. UAE Visas are stamped on arrival in your passport without charge. With the early departure after breakfast of the previous passengers often the ship w...
