Many of the cruise lines are very well equipped for wheelchair access but have to be careful with some of the British smaller ships - the crew will always do the best taht they can and help.

All ships will have disabled facilities but it very much depends on the ship that will suite you. I have never come across a crew member unwilling to help anyone but some of the smaller ships maybe more difficult to get around on.

Most of the cruise lines welcome passengers who require the use of wheelchairs, and most of the ships have specifically adapted disabled cabins onboard. They do normally stipulate that you must be accompanied by an able-bodied companion. When making your booking just point out straight away that you will be travelling in a wheelchair, so the correct cabins can be checked for you and any other necessary arrangements can be discussed. Why now check out the 'Accessibility' section on the left hand side of the website for any further advice.

P&O and Cunard make changes to...

By Richard Smith

P&O and Cunard cruises have for a good while now offered extra on-board credit to serving or ex forces guests. Previously this just had to be added on request at time of booking (not on a Saver fare) and guests may on-board be asked for paperwork to prove their eligibility on-board or lose it (although my clients said that they never got asked ).No both P&O and Cunard have moved the goal posts and require people who book after the 1st March 2018 to be registered for a Defence Discoun...

Viking River Cruises Award...

By Hannah Wilson

Hannah Wilson's blog

Knowing that river cruise ships are much smaller and given that the facilities are smaller, you might be forgiven for thinking that the food on board is going to be nowhere as good, or varied, as on an ocean cruise, you would be wrong! I must admit, having seen the size of the galley on a river cruise ship I was astonished because the food that they produce in such a confined space is superb. You will honestly find something for every palette at each meal on board.Viking is one of the best k...
