I don't smoke but what i intend to do as i too like to rise early is can you think of anything more pleasurable than sipping coffee/tea in the early morning on your own private space of your balcony with the sea breeze and a view of a mediterranean town? thats how i intend to start my mornings.
You could go and have a swim then go to gym it will be quite at that time i've never been on any other ship other than island escape and island star and like you was up early went for my few cups of tea and couple of ciggs but due to my health i gave up in February i thought i wood have crack buy now but can still say i'm still none smoker thought when was on cruise this year i would have started again as my hubby still smokes but it was hard went cold turkey for 20 days then went on patches then was off them before went on my cruise before 15 of may this year and i was a heavy smoker well enough of talking about me hope you enjoy your cruise .
You have two main options/ One is to order a pot of tea to be delivered to your cabin at 6am and have it with a smoke on the balcony whilst enjoying the scenery or a good book. Two, most ships have tea and coffee available in the cafeterias at all times although to smoke you would have to go out to the rear decks or the pool deck. There is a further option which I won't mention because many readers consider it infra-dig to suggest that you give up smoking so I won't mention that....Falan Down.
The Horizon Court is 24hours so you can have as many cuppas as you want then walk out side and there are plenty of tables for you to enjoy your drink with a smoke and you can get a top up outside too... you will find others like you out there as some trips have very early starts... enjoy your holiday, we are back on the Sea Princess in June 08.
Someone on this site said that on the sea princess you can smoke on one side of the deck so why dont you grab a cuppa and sit on the deck on the side you can smoke, enjoy the scenery, tea and your cigarette in peace, you will probably find like minded people doing the very same as you so you may even have a good chat aswell! enjoy.
Horizon Court (the buffet restaurant) is open 24/7. I often get up early and go up for a plate of fruit and coffee which I take down to the cabin. Alternatively, you can call room service (free - but a tip of $1-2 is recommended.
