Blue Horizon (Monarch International cruises) - check them out on the Web - didn't charge me a supplement for an outside single cabin (D33) on a cruise of the Aegean last month. It's a small ship and a friendly one. Public areas are good and recently refurbished.

I am 78 years old but quite fit for my age. I took my first cruise to the Carribean last year, unfortunately it was by boat all the way across the Atlantic which was a bit boring. Nevethless I quite enjoyed it. I would now like to 'do' the Mediterranean but, like you I have no one to travel with. If your interested in joining me then get in touch. Ji.

My Aunt is in exactly the same position, not quite 25 yrs but on her own, full fit and loves cruising. She has been on a caribbean cruise earlier this year, more recently Asia and soon to go on a Med cruise, all solo. She always says not many singles on board if so they are 80+ (no disrespect to this age group) but seem to be a shortage of single men! My email is sharkabout@aol.com (I am her niece and will pass info/address to her) she can't use email yet!

Good for you! I will be going on my first cruise in November and very excited for what may lie ahead. I have noticed there are some cruises that refer to older people which I want to look into for the future. There is life in us still!! Good luck in your quest! questee.

I wish. There are thousands of us potential cruisers put off by the exhorbitant single supplement and there are less and less cruise liners with single cabins. When will the industry wake up. Some cruises sail with empty cabins. Why not fill them with single travellers, booking late.

I was very happy on a leg of the P & O Oriana's World Cruise this year. I shared a cabin with another woman (unknown before the trip) and that worked well and kept the cost down. I soon made friends (you can ask to dine with other singles) and almost everyone was my age or above - who but retired people can be away for 3 months on a world cruise? (I did 3 weeks of it). I was in the middle of a divorce, unused to being alone, and 63, but it all worked out well.

As most of you know we are off on Allure of the Seas in December. I went online and logged onto my personaliser to see what was there and most things are bookable already. I always recommend for people to log onto their cruise booking with the cruise line direct once a month as we never know when things are bookable. So far I have sorted out most of our entertainment. Our first night we have OceanAria I think I am most excited for this. I mean an Aqua Theatre on a cruise ship! This extravaganza...

P&O Cruises recently announced that that would be building a 9th ship to join the P&O Fleet in 2020. This comes only two years after the Britannia was released and I am pleased to say that after quite a few problems she has become a firm favourite in the P&O Fleet.Hopefully P&O will take forward the feedback on Britannia but we are yet to see what this new ship will look like; all P&O have said is that she will be 180,000 Gross tons and carry 5,200 Guests. This is the larg...
