We went on the Coral Princess to the carribean in march, and there were quite a lot of retired people on the ship. We paid for the tipping at the end of the cruise, but you have got the option of paying for tipping as you go along. On our cruise it was $10 per person per day. Depending on how active you are depends on what trips you do, they can range from $30 upwards.Youll have a wonderful time.

Ocean Village is a good one NO dressing up but you still can if you wish too tip about 1£50p a day per person. We tip the the maid and if we use P&O the waiters as well, but its up to you but please look after your maid they do a great job.

Go P&O and enjoy.....fly to Barbados (but not USA) immigration is a pain... not worth it. Tipping - you tip as much or as little as you want. There is a leaflet in the cabin on arrival - as suggestion only - £1.50 per day cabin steward and same for table steward - you do not have to do this and some people do not go to dinner on the last night to avoid. But these guys do work very hard and are wonderful so give as much or as little as you want. Unlike US cruises (not P&O) who will take a certain amount per day per person for tips - y0u can go to the Purser's office and not pay this. Do not be intimitated go and and enjoy...

Been to Caribbean with RCI/Princess/Fred Olsen Fred Olsen easily the best especially for the more mature cruisers (although you do get a reasonable cross section of ages) Ships are smaller and very friendly Service and food are first class-food was the best we have had Nice touches such as male dance partners for ladies travelling alone Company suggests tips but up to you-nothing to worry about-place money in envelope provided and give to the cabin steward etc Trips can be pricey say £30 for a half day and £50+ for full day Try doing it yourself-nearly always people carriers at the quay who will take a dozen or so people for half the price-I have done this many times with no problems If possible go via Barbados not Miami (which you should avoid if at all possible) Go via Bridgetown and you will not see your cases again after check in at the airport until you get to your cabin Also coaches wait at the bottom of the aircraft stairs to take you to ship-could not be made easie.

Hi, Princess is good for Caribbean. Re.tipping, their brochure says they will charge $10 a day to your shipboard account. HOWEVER, thisis NOT compulsory!!!!! Just go to the Purser's Desk and say that you DO NOT want your account charging, you will make your own arrangements. There is no problem with this. Then just tip your cabin steward and waiter, or whoever you choose, (envelopes provided) whatever amount you choose. Also the ship's excursions are quite expensive. At every port there will be taxis and minibuses who can offer the same tours at much cheaper - and these are quite safe! You'll hve a wonderful time!

Why not try sailing aboard the MV Van Gogh, which we've cruised on 3 times so far thoroughly enjoying the experience.

Hi, Go Oct/Nov with P&O, cruising there and back, or fly one way. I don't fly so would prefer the cruise there and back. We did 22 nights last year calling off at the Azores on the way, then (in no particular order)St Maarten, Antigua, Dominica, St Lucia, Grenada and Barbados, then Madeira on the way back. Superb, very relaxing if you don't mind sea days, by the way the ship (Aurora) didn't budge an inch, flat calm all the way. If you go this time of the year then the hurricanes have gone.

My husband and I (aged 56 and 59) went on the Coral Princess a few years ago and there were a lot of retired people on board. We felt a little out of place but had a thoroughly good cruise. I would recommend Princess Cruises and the Coral Princess.

Staceys Port Guides Monte Carlo

By Stacey Williams

This week I will be talking about the beautiful port of Monte Carlo. i hoped to write about New York but my pictures are taking time to upload so I will do this next week!Monte Carlo is an area of Monaco that some would class as the capital. It is a very small place with a population is around 3500. It is an area situated at the base the Maritime Alps along the French Riviera. I would say that the place is most famous for the Casino and also the Grand Prix. The main districts are all wit...

Celebrity Edge Looks Incredible!

By Freddie Moser

Freddie Moser's blog

So yesterday afternoon I was lucky to attend an online preview of some of the accommodation and facilities aboard Celebrity Cruises most ambitious ship ever built; Celebrity Edge….I’ll be honest when I first heard the name of the ship, I thought it was an awful choice. However it’s since grown on me, and after watching the presentation, I now see the logic in the name Edge. You see this ship is first and foremost all about design and technology, so phrases like ‘Cutting...

AMAzing my first impressions o...

Well I have just returned from my first ever visit to a River cruise ship. What a way to start!!! I visited the AmaPrima and Ama are rated the highest standard of ships in Europe according to the Berlitz guide.I flew to Amsterdam and we got picked up by a brand new AMA coach and transferred the short distance to the centre of city to meet the ship, the first eye opener for me was exactly how near to the centre of the town the ship was. If I am being really honest I really didn’t know w...
