You would need to contact the cruise companies directly. I know that Cunard provide fully qualified nannies.

Cruises are not really suitable for children even if they have people that cater for them, ou must remember the ocean can be rough and make them feel sick, even if you take sea sick tablets. i have done so many cruises and don't think it is suitable after all people go on a cruise to relax, not to hear children running around and screaming and crying all the time, when my son was young we tok him to Spain, much more suited, to be honest we avoidships that carry children and go for child free ship.

Hi We have a son aged 8 with a diagnosis of Aspergers Syndrome. We went on Oceana (P&O) in May this year and the staff were brilliant. Whilst his condition is not immediately obvious to others I have a keen interest in special needs and on chatting to the childcare staff several of them are from a special needs background. There was also a severely disabled wheelchair using child in the cabin next to us and he was brilliantly looked after. On chatting to his Mum this was their second trip on board. I don't doubt that the staff would be more than able to look after your 2 children. The staffing levels are adapted at any one time to the children that are at the club. We used the club from age 5 and up so you would need to check the next age group down for yours. Claire, Southampto.

We have recently returned from a cruise on the Island Star, around the Med, with our three children. The 11 year old has Downs Syndrome and he was made very welcome in the kids club on the ship. The staff were excellent and he was included in all the activities. His speech is not 100% understandable to others and i was a little concerned but he, and the staff, managed and he thoroughly enjoyed himself. The cruise ship and every aspect of our holiday was brilliant. I would not hesitate in recommending Island Cruises-especially Island Star, to anyone.good luck.

Cowan (coward?) - autistic children don't talk, so there's no need to be scared that they will ruin your holiday by being too loud. Also because of their outstanding proprioception, they can easily withstand seasickness.

Check Me Out On Symphony!

By Amy Ginder

Amy Ginder's blog

Last week I had the absolute pleasure of cruising on the Symphony of the Seas for two days. It is safe to say that she did not disappoint! What a incredible, incredible ship! There really is no other cruise line like Royal Caribbean. They have the edge over every other line, what other cruise line would deliver aqua divers diving hundreds of metres through the air?The Aqua Theater on Symphony was breath taking, I can not believe that is humanly possible to do some of the stunts they perform, ...
