The "carry on Bags" are scanned by crew looking for bottles along with security risk items, These scanners do not seem to recognise wine boxes but of course I cannot vouch for it personally...Richard

Firstly as Wilba says, two bottle of 70 or 75cls per cabin. Where you buy them is up to you. You cannot buy "Duty Free" if you are only flying to Italy. If you buy them at home then you will have to pack them in your hold luggage but at the airport, provided they sell wine (and the wine you like) at your airport, you can take them on in your "Carry-on" luggage. You might be able to buy at Fiumicino provided you have enough time, that will depend on the method of transfer you have. I you have chosen the method of transport then you should be able to buy wine elsewhere before you board. After you board your allowance is zero. The decision is yours....Neil
