This was the first time that my wife and I have cruised. What an experience! Cruise ship was Azura evening dining in the Oriental Restaurant, faultless food and service. In fact the whole dining experience including the buffet was a real pleasure...  Read More >>

The Dream is great in size but the staff do a super job to keep you special. We stayed in an inside staterrom which was of an acceptable size with a virtual porthall, there was space under the bed to fit our suitcase...  Read More >>

We are travelling on Diamond Princess from Vancouver to Beijing 14/09/13 and stop at various destinations that require visas. However, we stop at Vladivostok and I have been informed that we will be covered by the ships Russian visa. I have asked Princess and they directed me to a visa application website instead of giving me an answer. Should I get my own Russian visa ?

We visited Vladivostok on the Diamond a few years back and we did not need a visa and just got off and did our own thing.

Certainly cruisers visiting the Baltic port of St Petersburg or the Black Sea port of Sochi do not need a visa if they have pre-arranged a tour with either the ship OR with a local tour operator, since these arrangements have a visa-waiver. We are among tany thousands of folk have done this, so be in no doubt. ................... Vladivostok is a much much more unusual port-of-call, but a quick zip around the 'net found folk who've cruised to Vlad & who experienced much the same, except that independent local operators are thin on the ground, and some cruisers have commented that a visa was not needed even if going ashore DIY entirely on their own. ............. Cruise lines' head offices are notoriously ignorant of visa requirements so I'd be inclined to go by the experiences of other cruisers, as long as you can find enough recently recent comments from them. Here's some comments on just one website found by googling Vladivostok cruise visa"....................................................................................................................................................................... http://cruiseforums.cruisecritic.co.uk/showthread.php?t=1332806
