Ms Eurodam

OVERVIEW: The ship has a bright interior decor designed to appeal to younger, more vibrant, multi-generational holidaymakers. In keeping with the traditions of Holland America Line, a large collection of artwork is a standard feature, and pieces reflect the former Dutch East Indies.

Seven Seas Voyager

OVERVIEW: Seven Seas Voyagewould be ideally suited to well-traveled couples and single travelers, typically over 50, seeking excellent itineraries, fine food, and good service, with some entertainment, in a contemporary ship that’s elegant and comfortable.

WORLD CRUISE

By Edwards, Ramsey on 22nd Apr 2014
My husband and I have recently returned from cruising on the P and O ship Adonia as part of the Grand Asian Voyage. We joined the ship in Singapore and visited eighteen wonderful ports which included Japan, China, where we walked on the Great Wall which...  Read More >>

Decided to try NCL as we were thinking of using them for Hawaii next year and saw a cheap deal going to lots of ports we'd never visited in Europe, so my husband and I thought we would give them a go. Glad we did, as this has stopped us from making a mistake...  Read More >>

Question

Does anyone know of an all incluisive cruise which visits places of historical interest. I am trying to arrange a cruise to celebrate my husbands 50th birthday which is 2nd week in Feb 2010 . Looking for good standard without having to formally dress up every evening. Prefer cabin with balcony. I would be grateful to receive any suggestions.

If historical interest also covers Egypt then there are many ships doing the Nile plod. Many are all inclusive, what we would call FULL BOARD. Drinks come as extras.

Thomson do all inclusive - you pay for a drinks package - and very much worth it is it. sometimes they offer a free upgrade to all inclusive

I would look at Swan Hellenic, their ship Minerva may offer exactly what you are looking for. On the other hand most cruises include towns and cities with enormous historic interest so if you are prepared to do a bit of exploration on your own then several cruiselines would fit. The main problem is the time you want to go when most ships are in the warmer waters although there is history throughout the Caribbean. It is not a good time to go to the Mediterranean ... Neil

All cruises include most entertainment, all meals and snacks, very very few include drinks. Can I suggest you abandon the word "all-inclusive". ...............history is quite a long time, so depends on what period etc you're considering. For an overview of Egyptian history, consider Thomson's 7-day Red Sea Magic which covers Petra (Jordan), Cairo & Luxor, and which is one of those very very few cruises for which you can upgrade to an all-inclusive package. Or for in-depth Egypt perhaps a 7-day Nile river cruise. Other destinations in Feb include the Caribbean & the Far East tho these are best done over two weeks and you'd need to study itineraries to get a decent dose of history ............Chris
