In the absence of the itinerary general advice would be to take US$ and when ashore have small denominations to minimise the problems of large amounts of change in a currency you will never use again. Like many on this site I use a Halifax Clarity Card ( it charges 1% p/month on cash advances but uses commercial bank exchange rates and does not penalise foreign currency purchases) and I draw local currency from ATM's when necessary....Richard B
