Drinks prices broadly in line with UK pub prices - to make good use of a full-price package (£170pppw) you'd need to go some. Not worth it for most people, tho sometimes they offer at 1/2 price as an incentive to book a cruise. ............Chris.

Just to add to Chris' answer, you can get it included in the price if you book early. Or at a discounted rate of about £50 when the "free" A.I. is gone before they put it up to full price. Last time aboard we would have only spent about £100 on drinks between 2 of us if we'd paid for them. Berwyn.

Hi, For the 2nd half of the question, the outside standard cabins are all the same inside. We had a balcony on deck 9 last time and inside it was identical to the ones we saw on lower decks. So really not unless you want to be higher up nearer the food and entertainment. Some cabins on Deck 8 are on the small promenade deck and though you will have a window you will have people walking outside it. And the lifeboats hang off deck 9 obstructing views in some cabins. Most people really only want the outsides so they can see daylight and you're not in it that much apart from sleeping and washing Berwyn.

Just an idea. If you do get an offer with the A.I. included don't ask for a bottle of wine or you will pay for it. (Unless you want a particular wine). Get the house wine by the glass, red, white and rose. Berwyn.

Weve just returned from colourful coasts canary cruise, and overall had a great holiday; we had previously upgraded to an outside cabin no. 6024 on deck 6 diamond deck; the cabins are small and dated, but clean. However we could only see through a small panel of glass in the centre of our window due to salt from the sea. When we enquired about the poor visibility, we were told it was due to the sea, time of year and the part of the world that we were sailing in.... What rubbish! must have been a mirage when we looked at other cruise ships in ports, with immaculate clear windows. Our advice, book an inside cabin. Also we took a look inside the deluxe and suite cabins. Don't bother!they are definately not worth it. On a positive note, the food, entertainment and excursions were good .

This Easter half term has been a particularly adventurous one, for one particular member of The Jones household this week, my 14 year old son! The week flew by for him, although not so much for my wife who became his twitter stalker! He visited San Francisco, Yosemite National Park, Death Valley (as shown in the pic), Las Vegas, The Grand Canyon, Hoover Dam and Los Angeles….yes ...

GratuitiesTo Pay or not to pay??

By Meghan Line

Meghan Line's blog

I am often asked about my own personal thoughts on paying the Gratuities/tips on board the cruise ships. To be honest whenever I have been on holiday and received excellent service in a hotel or a restaurant I always leave a tip. I have had times that we have declined to leave a tip as we felt the service was not what we had expected.Cruise ship staff work exceptionally hard on board to ensure all guests receive a high standard of service and in return appreciate any gratuities which reward ...
