All none suite guests are given a bag of crisps and half an apple in a little bag when they get on.
Sorry I could not resist that; you will get a full buffet meal when you get on. PS I don't know why it has come up twice.
You will only get a full buffet meal when you board if you have been specifically invited for lunch on embarkation day. The first available food for the majority of passengers will be afternoon tea about 4.00 - 4.30pm. and this is not substantial. I always advise people to have lunch before they board as it's a long time to wait for dinner if you are on late sitting.
Agree - we've never been able to board FO in time for lunch (remember they have no 24 hr buffet) However the restaurant is open because I've had lunch on ship visits on turnround days so maybe if you paid ££££ you might get invited but presumably if you have been invited you would know it.
Friends have just returned from a superior suite on fred olsen's Balmoral and told me they did not supply free Gin/Whisky and Brandy this time. `also no after dinner chocs. Can ayone else confirm if this is now the case.
Dec 2011 we were in a Marquee suite on Boudicca and did not board until 2.30 and so no lunch available at all. Previously we had sailed on Balmoral and had been invited to early embarkation and lunch but if you read the "perks" on Freds website lunch is not now mentioned...I think they have stopped offering it but if I am wrong someone will tell me :)..Carol.
Thank you all for your help. It is much appreciated. I will make sure I eat something before embarkation. Many thanks again.
