I agree with Morris. We went on Celebration over New Year and had a wonderful time. There are new carpets, chair covers and curtains in all the public areas, so it looks very smart. The evening shows are really well done. The food is very good. The service in the restaurant efficient and friendly. No complaints whatsoever!

What are you nervous about?? We have been on Celebration twice (loved it so much the first time we went back for more!) We have also done three other Thomson ships, as well as Costa twice, P & O , Princess twice and MV Discovery....In our opinion Celebration is not a new and flashy ship but the staff more than make up for this....the entertainment is the best we have seen at sea, the food is good and plentiful, tips are included in the fare, the cabins are clean and comfortable. The excursion staff give Port talks which make it very easy to do your own thing rather than take a ships excursion. Shops on board are the same as most other ships we've been on. Please do not worry...if you have any questions I will be happy to do my best to answer them.

I have been on Thomson ships 3 times and the Celebration is my favourite - in fact I'm pining to go back on her this year. Thomson cruise ships are known as the 'happy' ships and it's certainly true. All staff and crew are so friendly, the food in the restaurant is good, they have different bars for different tastes ie: quiet and classical music, jazz in the top bar and the enterainment of Liberties may not be everyone's taste but is certainly put me in the mood for fun. Also the shows are very good. The ship is not flash and ultra modern but I certainly didn't care about that. I'm sure you will have a great time - and I'm really envious!!

Don't worry about other people's opinions. Some people enjoy moaning (obvious from some reviews). Thomson ships are well known to be friendly and welcoming - ideal for a first cruise. Talk to your cabin steward, waiters and bar staff, they are all very willing to help where they can. If there is anything you need, they will do their best to get it for for you - but you have to ask sometimes. It appears that some guests expect the crew to be psychic! Have a lovely time and spare a thought for us poor souls in the snow and the fog!
