We have cruised the inside passage [with HAL, good choice by the way] in both July and August. Both were great. The weather can be cool/very warm, dry/drizzly/wet. Take layers and very light rain proofs ie kagouls. We had no problem with mozzies, and believe me, I am their first point of call! A wonderful place. Enjoy. We hope to go back again soon.

Thank you for your helpful comments. I'll certainly take this into consideration when deciding on which month to travel.

June to August are the best months according to other cruisers who have been in Alaska - However, the weather is changeable. Use the following in your browser or google "weather alaska" and click on Frommers, it is excellent information. www.frommers.com/destinations/alaska/0210020006.html For example: " June is the driest of the summer months, July the warmest, and August generally the rainiest month of the brief summer, but warmer than June. In most respects, June is the best summer month to make a visit, but it does have some drawbacks to consider: In the Arctic, snow can linger until mid-June; and not all activities or facilities at Denali National Park open until late June. It's also the worst time for mosquitoes." Read more: http://www.frommers.com/destinations/alaska/0210020006.html#ixzz1D3sbdFjx
