We have done Xmas Cruising at Christmas onboard Oceana P&O and Christmas Eve you are usually in port and New Years Eve too. Both Xmas day and New years day tend to be at sea. It is unusual waking up on Xmas day in the Caribbean, But there are all lots of things planned and Santa always pays a visit. These are the best Formal evenings by far with Crackers on your table along with balloons and party hats and poppers. On our last cruise Xmas 2008 all of us on the table decided to do a secret santa and buy gifts for no more than $5 each. It was fun and made the festive season that bit better. We also clubbed together for a bottle of Bubbly. This is how P&O handle it, But not sure of other cruise Lines. The weather should be fine as the Hurricane season should be over, but do not rule out some cloudier days and some rain dependant on where you are sailing to in the Caribean So sit back and wait for the journey to begin and enjoy. .....Wendy

The hurricane season runs April to Sept/Oct according to the experts. And Michael Fish!!! Weather-wise should be a good time to go, but Xmas will impinge on things to see or do at ports of call so check your itinerary for Xmas eve, Xmas day, Boxing day & New Years Day. ....Chris

Many thanks for your reply - hope Michael Fish is not on board the Black Watch! Shirley Oxley
