You don't mention budget. A big factor. If you want 'good quality' then I would look no further than Celebrity Summit Barcelona > Venice in Jul09. Great ship and great itinerary.

60th birthdays are special and you do say you want 'good quality'. Next year sees the Queen Victoria sailing to the Mediterranean from Southampton. You will not get much better quality from Uk than her. If you are happy to fly then Seabourn or Silversea are at the top end. Avoid Island Cruises and Thompson if quality is really an issue.

Forgot to say: Avoid any ship out of the UK during school holiday season (mid June to end Aug). I also recommend RCI Brilliance from Barcelona to Venice. If budget is not a problem then go with Azamara.

We have recently booked our 1st ever cruise, going on Celebrity's new ship Solstice. Its doing its 1st season in the Med next summer. Leaving and returning Rome. I researched heavily into which cruise line, looking for for the perfect itinerary and quality vs price and Celebrity came up tops. Balcony cabins cheaper than standard outside cabins on other lines. Could be of interest to you.

I have been on the Island Escape & really enjoyed it. It was very relaxed, any formal evening were optional. I supposed it depends on the type of cruise you want, some people may enjoy more formal evening whereas I just wanted to be relaxed. I found that it was really well organised i.e. excursions, newsletter posted to your cabin everyday telling you all the days activities and events. You could do as much or as little as you want. It was great!

Sky Dive in the Sunshine state

By Steve Fuller

It’s almost time for my annual Florida fix. I do like to try and squeeze in a trip to Florida every year. If I can of course. This time I’m doing something a little more than just the parks.I’ve signed up to do a sky dive. Moment of madness, impulsive booking, whatever but I’m going through with it. Tandem dive of course with a fully qualified instructor. I’m doing this jump at the highest altitude for a Tandem jump possible which is at 18000ft.We all have things...

CMV you say? She will have a quick refurb and some adaptions to the lounges ready to set sail as MV Columbus on 11 June 2017 afte...
