Just shows you!!! I went on the Island Star and it broke my heart!!!! It was dreadful. She used to be the Celebrity Horizon and was then wonderful and is now totally shabby. It has definitely come down in class but hey, its now so called free style cruising and you pay free style cruising money for it, with charter flights, disgustingly having to pay extra to use the safe deposit box in your cabin - a must on a cruise where you don't want to carry everything. Basically - its a floating package holiday and not traditional cruising as such. I have to say I WOULD compare it to Butlins and I've done the full range of cruises. BIg ships, little ships, English, Italian, American and even Malaysian and Australian. Basically its if its right for you for you, you will love it, if its wrong, don't let it put you off cruisin.

We have been on the Star twice and it was great! The ship is definitely not 'tired' in our opinion and was not like Butlins. The staff are simply wonderful and the food very good. By the way, we went at October half-term both times and although the ship was full and busy, it did not detract from the holiday.

I always recommend for people to log onto their cruise booking with the cruise line direct once a month as we never know when things are bookable. So far I have sorted out most of our entertainment. Our first night we have OceanAria I think I am most excited for this. I mean an Aqua Theatre on a cruise ship! This extravaganza...

P&O Cruises recently announced that that would be building a 9th ship to join the P&O Fleet in 2020. This comes only two years after the Britannia was released and I am pleased to say that after quite a few problems she has become a firm favourite in the P&O Fleet.Hopefully P&O will take forward the feedback on Britannia but we are yet to see what this new ship will look like; all P&O have said is that she will be 180,000 Gross tons and carry 5,200 Guests. This is the larg...
