Up until now I have resisted the temptation to buy(some being quite reasonably priced compared to the UK) because RCI state that anything containing soil is not allowed to be brought on board or taken off the ship. A hefty fine payable if caught. I wouldn't want to transgress, but on our next cruise on IOTS in May, there is an excursion to a cactus garden. I'm sure there will be plants for sale! I do understand that in the soil there could be all sorts of unwanted pest, not welcomed back in the UK. However, today I can go on-line and purchase a variety of plants from EU countries for delivery to the UK, immediately by post. Has any traveller had problems bringing plants back to the Uk from a cruise around the Med.?
