The RCI Voyager & Freedom Class ships have more going for kids than anything else on the water, but Celebrity is their premium brand so it depends what are your priorities.

Yes, I would they are excelent for children although I consider the parent company, Royal Caribbean, to be even better and most-times cheaper... Neil.

We were in a similar situation. We've never cruised before, but after much studying of the various cruise lines we eventually chose Celebrity Solstice for our 1st ever cruise in Aug 09. We have our (will be) 12 year old son with us. Have read that the kids clubs are very good with Celebrity, and although they dont have the climbing walls/water slides that other ships have, we figured that considering the perfect itinerary with only 2 sea days we wouldnt be spending a lot of time on ship other than evenings. The other major factor was the price, a whole lot cheaper than RCI / P&O and we get a balcony of the price of a standard outside on other lines!

Pickering - Answered a Question by harris (17 Aug 08 14:36)

Hi - we have just returned from a (first) 14 night cruise in the Baltic with Celebrity Constellation. We have two boys aged 14 and 15 and they have just had what they have described as "the best holiday ever by miles - if you book anything else in future it would be an anti-climax". They have various kids clubs depending upon age group and organise a programme of events every day starting at 9:00 am and running through to 1:00 am for the older kids. To give you an indication there were 200 "kids" on our cruise ranging from 1 to 17. My two went their own way and each met up with a group of about 10-12 friends that they stuck with for the whole holiday. They are both thoroughly miserable at having left them all behind. To sum up I would definitely recommend Celebrity for children. Anecdotally the friends my boys met up with are seasoned cruisers who have been on a number of cruises lines and rate Celebrity the best.

Many thanks for your reply. Having just cruised on Ventura which the children thoroughly enjoyed we were worried about booking Celebrity,it sounds like the children would enjoy it as much. Good to know that there were a good number of children.

Crown Princess to become home from home

By Abbi Varela

Abbi Varela's blog

I don’t know about you but when I go on a cruise one of my favourite things is the food, I love trying all the international dishes and eating food that I wouldn’t usually eat at home. I’m sure you will agree that dining on board your cruise should be one of the highlights, it certainly is for me. So when I read Princess cruises latest plans for their menu’s on board I have to say I wasn’t overly convinced from a personal perspective.According to Princess they ar...

Move over Miami

By Charlene Thackeray

Charlene Thackeray's blog

Its that time of the year, Christmas has gone and its time to start planning for next year. We often host everyone at our house being that Chris is a chef its kind of expected. Well not in 2017, we have just booked a week on Royal Caribbean Allure of the Seas. I cannot wait! I have been on Harmony and Anthem but always with work and only for 2 nights so its not the same experience as being on board with your family for the week. Then comes the decision do we stay in Miami or Fort Lauderdale? H...
