We did Pisa by train. Across the road where the shuttle bus drops of there is a tobbaconist with a sign outside saying "tickets for Pisa". They speak English and you need bus tickets to get to station and train tickets. For Rome walk about 10mins from shuttle bus drop off to train station. Train tickets to Rome are 9euro return which includes bus/subway in Rome. There is a stop at St Peters before central Rome. There are two trains an hour and it takes around 50mins to St Peters and another 15mins to centre.

We shared a taxi with two others he waited the 2 hours we spent at Pisa - too crowded - and many pick pockets.

For monte carlo walk a few mins from the tender drop off to the train station. it takes less than 30mins. sorry i cannot remember the exact time or price since it's been a few years since we done it, but it wasn't that pricey. we hope to do it again this sept.

Catch the train to Rome and you can take the Rome sightseeing bus which is 'hop on hop off'It's about 15euros if I remember rightly. If you want to see the Vatican there are usually long queues.Don't know if you can book tickets on line. We did that on an organised trip but the second visit we were braver and caught the train and the bus.

Friends of mine took a taxi to Pisa and it cost them 120 euros between them and the driver waited for them whilst they looked around the various buildings, etc and he took them straight back to the ship after their visit. Hope that this is of some help to you.

The weekend proved another challenge for us with the continuation of crazy, unpredictable world weather. With the absolute devastation of Hurricane Irma in the Caribbean and Miami area of the United States still fresh in our minds we were dealt another blow in the form of a tornado which delayed Diamond Princess arrival for disembarkation into Yokohama by a day.The ship was due to arrive into Yokohama (Tokyo) on Monday 18th September, but was delayed until Tuesday 19th September at 2pm. The...

Hurricane Irma has certainly made her presence felt in the Caribbean. Florida was relatively lucky compared to the devastation that happened on some of the islands such as Barbuda, St Thomas, Anguilla and St Maarten. Most of these destinations rely on tourism as a source of income for their people and with the amount of damage to infrastructure and hotels this is going to affect their economies severely. In these times of adversity you can see how people rally round and work together to try an...

As most of you all know that I have a big fella called Looney, he is my little baby and my absolute world. He is a boxer and I have had him since he was 26 weeks old, he will be 16 in October this year. I remember the day so clearly when I got him, wow he was such a bundle of joy, his head and paws were massive they just didnt go with his small little body, he was so lively and loving he was just adorable.Anyway I got him when I lost my mum 16 years ago in October this year. I was very poorly...
