We did Pisa by train. Across the road where the shuttle bus drops of there is a tobbaconist with a sign outside saying "tickets for Pisa". They speak English and you need bus tickets to get to station and train tickets. For Rome walk about 10mins from shuttle bus drop off to train station. Train tickets to Rome are 9euro return which includes bus/subway in Rome. There is a stop at St Peters before central Rome. There are two trains an hour and it takes around 50mins to St Peters and another 15mins to centre.

We shared a taxi with two others he waited the 2 hours we spent at Pisa - too crowded - and many pick pockets.

For monte carlo walk a few mins from the tender drop off to the train station. it takes less than 30mins. sorry i cannot remember the exact time or price since it's been a few years since we done it, but it wasn't that pricey. we hope to do it again this sept.

Catch the train to Rome and you can take the Rome sightseeing bus which is 'hop on hop off'It's about 15euros if I remember rightly. If you want to see the Vatican there are usually long queues.Don't know if you can book tickets on line. We did that on an organised trip but the second visit we were braver and caught the train and the bus.

Friends of mine took a taxi to Pisa and it cost them 120 euros between them and the driver waited for them whilst they looked around the various buildings, etc and he took them straight back to the ship after their visit. Hope that this is of some help to you.

Picking up my Shanghai Blog from last year – you can read the last one hereAfter a great night in Suzhou, we were due to check out of the hotel to move on back to Shanghai. We went for breakfast in the hotel restaurant we found this to be much more traditional and didnt have the selection we were afforded at the hotel in Shanghai. There were pastries and there was what looked like an omelette station but much of the selection was very Asian based – we fueled up ready for our d...
