Hey, I am taking this cruise next march - what day are you on? Suggest you join the roll call for this one [very active] and then look out for tours to share.

You won't be calling at Costa Rica on this cruise itinerary.

I'd recommend the tour of St Maarten. It goes to both halves of the island (Dutch and French) and gives a good idea of the history of the island (for example, you have to make an international phone call to talk to a neighbour opposite you on certain streets).

Megan's bay is fantastic at St Thomas and is available with a coral world trip combined. We went on Rhino Riders with a snorkel in St marten and recommend that too. However if you love to shop for jewellery do a cheap taxi downtown and take plenty of dollars but be wary of some of the side street shops they are not all run by such nice venders as the bigger chains.

Costa Rica and Dominica well worth taking a decent tour to see the interior; St Thomas I wouldn't even get off the boat, St Maarten is tiny, I'd get a taxi and go to the French town, Barbados why not hire a car (pre-book to TRY and avoid delay!) and see the island for yourself, it's easy to get around (but don't leave it to the last minute getting back into Bridgetown!).

St Maarten tour worthwhile if only to see the cultural differences, St Thomas chair lift is walkable from the ship, Barbados visit the Malibu Factory and enjoy the tasting session followed by some time on the beach (it rained for a short while we were there what no better way to spend your 40th wedding aniversary under a beach umbrella)wish we were there now!

I did this cruise in February .. absolutely excellent.. didnt take any RCCL tours just grabbed a cab at each port and did our own thing, but there were a few of us.. recommend: Orient Beach in St MArten (if u dont get in too late) Megans Bay in St Thomas, In Dominica get a cab and go to see the waterfall.. wear old stuff and swimmers + grippy trainers/sneakers and climb to falls til u get to the rock pools and sulphur pools and take a dip there .. AMAZING!!! (our guide was Marilyn John and she was superb.. cost us around £12 for the cab and $10 for the guide compared to $150 with RCCL wo only take u to a viewing platform and dont let you go further cos of insurance ... It was an easy climb and we got a 4'6 60 yr old and a couple well into their 60's all the way up with us .. just took it slow and careful. Nice beaches too if u get to St Kitts.. Forget shopping unless u want local rums ... not worth spending your time in these resorts in shopping malls you can do at home... too many souvenirs of places you have seen from inside a coach on the way to shops... go experience it all while u can!

For me a visit to Cane Garden Beach at Tortola is a must do. Whether a booked trip gives you long enough on the beach is questionable, far better to just get off the ship and take one of the many options awaiting you when you land. Sit back on the beach enjoy the sum, rum and probably the pelicans diving for the anchovy.
