MS Noordam

OVERVIEW: Noordamoffers a wide range of public rooms with a reasonably intimate atmosphere and the overall feel of the ship is quite homely and comforting, with fresh flowers everywhere, as well as some nicely showcased Dutch artifacts from the 16th and 17th centuries.

Sun Princess

OVERVIEW: Sun Princess, while large, absorbs passengers well, and has a quasi-intimate feel. The interiors are warm, with welcoming decor that includes some attractive murals and other artwork.

Not a fan of MSC
MSC  / MSC Preziosa /
MEDITERRANEAN

By garland, swansea on 19th Apr 2014
We have sailed with many of the cruise lines but thought we would try MSC Prezioza which was sailing from Venice. The embarkation procedure is organised chaos, it took hours to board. The drinks package is worth it, try the Allegresimo, 23 euros+15%, per...  Read More >>

Holyhead has a lot to offer cruise visitors, from a magnificnt harbour & breakwater, the country park, South Stack, Maritime museum, Newry beach, Roman Fort, St Cybi's church, standing stones, hut circles, plenty of birds for the twitchers, stunning scenary and we have not even got on to Anglesey yet...... we need to boost Holyhead up not shoot it down all the time.....

You have obviously been away for a long time, whilst the town centre may be uninspiring the tourist industry have cruise ship excursions taking guests around the isle including Beaumaris Castle or to Caernarfon Castle and then on the Welsh Highland Railway to Beddgelert before continuing to Portmerion, other trips include Conwy Castle & Langollen. I am not resident in Wales nor part of their tourist industry but I do feel Holyhead is a great port of call for anyone interested in magnificent scenery and/or British history .....Richard B

Cruise ships used to tender at Holyhead, they now berth at a new pier. You'll know that there's a good frequent rail service along the N Wales coast - Conwy, Rhyl, etc. ......... Or Busybus offer minibus tours specifically targetted at cruise ships visiting Holyhead http://www.busybus.co.uk/sightseeing-tours/cruise-excursions
