No need to do any shore excursions - all it needs is a bit of research. If you use a browser and type in the words 'message and cruise and asia' - of the results returned you need approx 3rd link down that begins with the word asia and contains the word 'boards'.

There should be 'courtesy buses' from the ship to civilisation, but at a small charge, usually two or three pounds or the equivalent. Maps of your destination should also be provided.

I was on the Diamond Princess far east cruise Whittier to Bangkok this Sept - October, the only bus we paid for was in Kodiak Island all the other courtesy buses wre free. enjoy your cruise we had a fantastic time.

The last two stops on our itinerary were Livorno and Villefranche.
