No need to do any shore excursions - all it needs is a bit of research. If you use a browser and type in the words 'message and cruise and antigua' - of the results returned you need approx 3rd link down that begins with the word antigua and contains the word 'boards'. Repeat for each island!

Personally after hours of research on the above site - I have booked to hire a car in St Maarten, to go with Antours in Dominica ($45pp for private tour for 6 people), and to use Gordon tours in Antigua for $40. Hope this helps.

If you just want to go to a local beach, then there are always loads of local taxis available which will be far cheaper than the ships excursions. All seem to take US dollars to save changing to local currency.

On the other hand , if your partner is employed by one of the largest cruise travel agenci...

Over the last few years here at www.CRUISE.co.uk we have seen the cruise industry change massively. Not only that but people are wanting tours and particularly escorted tours that really give an essence of that region. Our most popular package of the last few years has undoubtedly been...

Is River Cruising Accessible?

By Hannah Wilson

Hannah Wilson's blog

Quite simply, River Cruising is my passion, my favourite type of cruise. i have been lucky enough to do five river cruises to date and the next one can’t come soon enough. Top of my river cruising bucket list has to be the Mekong, gliding through Vietnam and Cambodia – one day I hope! You would think that river cruising would be perfect for people with limited mobility, smaller ships with less passengers on, only three decks etc, but is river cruising really ideal for wheelchair an...
