Q: Does anyone out there know how to obtain information on which ports provide a free shuttle from the ship, as iwe are cruising from Bangkok to Southampton and some ports of call ie Kuala Lumpur, Athens and some middle east ports are well away from the docking location

We find it difficult to find this info from P and O probably because they wish to sell excursions????

I asked a similar question of P&O regarding Vietnam and Ho Chi Min City and they came back with the info within a few hours .So they will respond if you contact them. One other point about Shuttle buses. It is not unknown for the local taxis to object to the use of Free Shuttle buses for obvious reasons. We met this objection when visiting Tunis with P&O about a year ago. We have not been to KL so I cannot comment but if you are prepared for a 20/30 min walk from the Port area it is quite easy to catch the local Metro into Athens. Its about 2 Euros each way and is about a 20 minute journey time.

Bangkok and KL are a long way from the ports of Laem Chabang and Port Kelang so I would dismiss any thoughts of a 'free' shuttle. If you want to do these ports DIY then I would research and pre book over the internet. Athens is easy as the HOHO buses are plying for trade immediately outside the dock gates at Piraeus............Wilba

A shuttle is usually provided where the dock is some distance from the nearest town. The information on which ports is on the P&O website..........https://ask.pocruises.com/help/PO/on-shore/Port_Shuttle_Information.......Just click on the link on that page....Brian
