You can DIY nearly everywhere in Norway. Unless there is a particular excursion that interests you, it is easy to explore on your own. If you are visiting the Lofoten Islands a tour is well worth it as they are beautiful.

Hi, we are going to the Lofoten Islands and have tried to book to go to Henningsvaer with Cunard but unfortunately the tour is fully booked. Can you give us any idea of other trips to do independently or is there enough to walk round? Thanks

Sorry the reply took so long, we've just got back from Iceland (lovely trip). I would recommend the trip to the Viking museum on the Lofoten Islands, or the Nusfjord visit. If you are over 60 you can buy a run around bus pass for the day for about the equivalent of £6. Enjoy your trip. Judith

Have a look at my recent review "Enjoyed Marco Polo" dated 5 June. I have tried to give some practical advice on some of the fjord ports there. Robert
